A businesswoman with considerable interest in fashion, oil and gas as well as printing, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija is one of the wealthiest women on the continent and one of the richest black women in the world. She is the group managing director of The Rose of Sharon Group which consists of The Rose of Sharon Prints & Promotions Limited and Digital Reality Prints Limited and the executive vice-chairman of Famfa Oil Limited. Ranked by Forbes as the richest woman in Nigeria (and at one point, also in Africa), Alakija has never allowed herself to be defined by the size of her bank account but rather by the contributions she is making to advance our society.

Educated in Nigeria, United Kingdom and the United States, Alakija started her career in 1974 as an executive secretary at Sijuade Enterprises, Lagos, Nigeria before moving on to the former First National Bank of Chicago, (which has morphed into what is now FCMB) after which she established a tailoring company called 'Supreme Stitches'. In May 1993, Alakija made a successful bid for the allocation of an oil and gas prospecting license and was granted OPL 216. As of May 2015, Alakija was listed alongside then Finance Minister, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, among the 100 most powerful women in the world

Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija spoke at the 2018 RCGG TEAP Teens Career Conference on Without Dreams life is meaningless

  •  Aspire to be an Action Dreamer who stretches his horizon beyond every conceivable limitation?
  • The road would not be easy – you will be considered unrealistic, eccentric or erratic, but then when you know where you are going, nothing should stop you from reaching your goal – keep it - S M A R T
  • Keep a distance from Wishful Day Dreamer who indulge in mere fantasy and from Night Dreamers who recall only snippets of something that bear no semblance with the reality of their existence!
